For my son’s lego birthday party, I made two different types of large lego bricks: standing bricks and laying bricks for placing snacks on. Both were a great addition to the party and the best part is, I was able to finish this project in one day.
Standing Bricks
I made these standing bricks using different sized shoe boxes, wrapping paper, foam paper, and hot glue
I removed and discarded the lids of all the shoe boxes and wrapped the boxes in yellow, red, and blue wrapping paper just like I would a present
Then I cut a 3 inch circle out of foam paper similar to this set on Amazon and hot glued it onto the shoe boxOnce I glued the right number of circles onto the shoe box, I cut out a 1 inch strip of foam paper and glued it so it would fit snugly around the circleThen I put a little dab of hot glue on the top and bottom of the strip and pressed it against the circleI repeated these steps until my legos were done!I traced the top of each shoe box onto the matching colored wrapping paper, cut it out, and glued it on top of each shoe box as a finishing touch
Laying Bricks
The laying bricks were MUCH faster to make than the standing bricks. I made more of these than the standing ones for that reason. I wrapped various sized shoe boxes in wrapping paper and simply put these little sauce containers on topI filled the sauce containers with m&m’s and Skittles and placed them on the tables as decor. Guests could grab a cup for a colorful snackThese lego bricks alongside the DIY Large Lego Heads we made were a hit. There you have it, creative and colorful large lego bricks! A great addition to any lego party.
