This is another recipe my husband loves so much, he won’t order it at restaurants anymore. If you’re craving the perfect rack of ribs, crispy on the edges, tender on the inside, and slathered in the most finger-lickin’ good sauce-then i’m glad you’re here cause this is it!
Preparing the Dry Rub

There are a few spices you will massage into the ribs before they go in the oven: sugar, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Mix these together and set aside. I like to mix mine in a small Tupperware in case there is extra for next time.
Preparing the Meat

Before adding the dry rub, you’ll want to prep the meat. Line a 13 x 18 cookie sheet with two layers of foil and a sheet of parchment paper. I usually make two racks of ribs so there’s plenty to go around. Flip the racks bone side up and carefully remove the membrane from the back.

The membrane is a thin layer of tissue that keeps the dry rub from getting into the meat, so it is best to remove it. This helps the seasoning soak in and makes the ribs extra tender. How to: place a butter knife under the thin layer and use your other hand to peel it away from the meat.

Next, sprinkle the dry rub generously over both sides of the ribs, then work it into the meat to ensure an even coating.

Cover the ribs with a layer of foil (meat side up) and bake at 350°F for 1 hour and 45 minutes. Then, increase the oven temperature to 400°F and continue baking for another hour.

By this time, your house is smelling amazing – it’s time to sauce the ribs! . Flip them over so the bone side is up and generously brush on the BBQ sauce, making sure to get into all the nooks and crannies. Place the ribs back in the oven, uncovered, and broil on high for about 4 minutes, or until the sauce starts to bubble. Keep a close eye on them—BBQ sauce can burn quickly under the broiler.

Flip the ribs so they are meat side up, then brush on a generous layer of BBQ sauce. Broil on high for about 4 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbling and caramelized.

We love serving these ribs with corn on the cob, yummy fries, and a fresh salad. Enjoy!
