What’s better than a scavenger hunt? A scavenger hunt for dragon eggs! Read below to find out more about our hunt as well as some other games we played at my daughter’s princess birthday party.
Scavenger Hunt
Our scavenger hunt started at the castle tower on the rightGuests read this sign and knocked three times on the castle tower to start the hunt

My kids were the guides of the scavenger hunt. Guests went on the hunt one pair at a time. Once they knocked on the castle tower three times, their experienced guides gave them a sword (with the first clue tied to it) and a lantern to guide their way Each clue led to a different room in the house. Clue number 5 was a doozy, the clue warned guests to watch out for an evil crocodile. I hung a stuffed crocodile on the back of my daughter’s bedroom door. When they read the clue, I pulled the door forward a bit and the crocodile swung out. Guests used their sword to defeat it and saw the next clue around its neckThe final clue led to dragon and his eggs, which were collected in a little basket once the eggs were found. At the end of each hunt, the guides took the eggs back to the dragon and set evil crocodile back behind the door to prepare for the next pair of guests. Once every guest completed the hunt, the kids broke open the eggs to see the mini dragons that were inside. These dragon eggs were so fun to crack open and play with
We had a cookie decorating station set up. Here’s a link to the cookie cutter crowns I used
Princess Pictionary
I filled a treasure chest full of folded index cards with a princess themed word that was easy to draw (rose, sword, crown, princess, castle, etc.)
Pretty Pink Piñata
Another one of our birthday traditions is having a piñata full of goodies. I found this one at Party City and filled it with princess and dragon stickers, tattoos, stamps, bracelets, and other goodies
