Princess Castle Cake

I made this cake for my daughter’s princess themed birthday party. Here is a link to more details on the princess party.

Making this cake was a multi-day project, but seeing my daughter’s face when she saw her castle cake made it all worth it! I purchased this castle cake set from Amazon. Here is how I made it..
I wanted to line whole cake with pink flowers. I bought mini sugar pearls from Walmart and baby pink fondant and flower cut-outs from Amazon
I took a large handful of fondant from the jar and rolled it until is was about 1/4 inch thick and made large and small flower cut-outs throughout. I added a pearl by gently pushing it down in the center of the flower while the fondant was still fresh
Next, I covered some of the castle pieces with fondant and decorated them with pearls and flowers
Planning the look of the cake
I baked two 8 inch and three 12 inch yellow cakes and placed the most smooth 8 and 12 inch cakes on top of the others to make frosting the cake easier
I cut out a piece of white foam board to fit snugly into the white tray I used for the cake. Once the cake was frosted, I placed it on the foam board within the tray and added all the accessories. I hot glued the six outer castle towers to the foam board and voila!
